Movers Lane Limited ("Movers Lane", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how it is handled, and the rights you have under the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).
1. What we collect
Through the forms on this website, we collect only what you choose to give us:
- Quote requests — your name, email address, phone number, pickup and destination addresses, estimated move date, and the approximate size of your move.
- Free quote requests (from our /quote page) — your first name, mobile number, optional email address, pickup and destination suburbs, estimated move date, the approximate size of your move, any access notes (e.g. stairs, lift, parking), your preferred contact method, and any notes you add.
- Partner enquiries — your business name, contact name, email address, phone number, business type, estimated monthly volume, geographic coverage, the service you're interested in, and any message you add.
We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website — which pages are visited, and general interactions such as starting a quote or clicking to call or WhatsApp us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address, which we have configured Google Analytics to anonymise), device and browser type, and pages viewed. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information to Google Analytics. When you arrive via one of our Google Ads campaigns, we also use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how well those ads perform — for example, whether a visit led to a submitted quote request or a phone call. This uses the same Google tag as Google Analytics above, and collects information such as the pages you visit and the ad campaign that referred you. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information to Google Ads. You can find out more in Google's Privacy Policy.
The reviews section on our home page is provided by Trustindex, which loads our Google reviews from Google. Loading it may cause Trustindex and Google to receive your IP address and browser details and to set cookies or similar technologies. We don't give Trustindex your name, email, phone number, or address. See Trustindex's privacy policy for how they handle data.
When you type into a pickup or destination address field on our quote forms, the text you type is sent to Google (Google Maps Platform) so it can suggest matching New Zealand addresses, along with your IP address and browser details. Google may set cookies or similar technologies. We don't send Google your name, email, or phone number. See Google's Privacy Policy.
2. Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Respond to your quote request or enquiry;
- Assess and discuss the details of a potential move or partnership with you;
- Plan and provide moving or delivery services, if you go on to book with us; and
- Keep records we're required to keep for accounting and tax purposes.
We do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your separate consent.
3. How your submission reaches us
This website is a static site with no database behind our public quote and partner-enquiry forms at this time. When you submit either form, the details are sent directly to our inbox at hello@moverslane.co.nz using Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service that relays the submission by email and does not otherwise use, sell, or retain your information for its own purposes. Web3Forms acts as our data processor for this one purpose only — getting your enquiry to us. We plan to move quote and enquiry handling to a first-party system we operate directly in future, at which point this policy will be updated to reflect that change.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:
- Web3Forms, solely to deliver your form submission to our email inbox (see section 3);
- Our email provider, in the ordinary course of receiving and storing the email your submission generates;
- Google, via Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking, for the general website-usage data described above — never your name, email, phone number, or address;
- Trustindex (which loads our Google reviews from Google), when the reviews section of our home page loads: technical details such as your IP address and browser — never your name, email, phone number, or address; and
- Google (Maps Platform), for address suggestions: the address text you type into the quote forms, plus your IP address and browser details — never your name, email, or phone number.
We do not disclose your information to any other third party except where required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep the information you submit for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a customer, for the duration of our relationship with you and for as long afterward as we're required to for legal, accounting, or tax record-keeping purposes. After that, we delete or de-identify it.
6. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and to ask us to delete it (subject to any legal obligation we have to keep it). To make a request, contact us at hello@moverslane.co.nz.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your personal information, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
8. Children's privacy
Our website and services are directed at adults arranging a move or business enquiry, not at children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and services evolve — particularly as we move from the interim, email-based submission process described in section 3 to a system we operate directly. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
